To meet our licence conditions, we have to submit all our final plans in February to have an event in May. Currently mass gatherings (and dancing!) aren’t allowed by Public Health England. So we can’t finalise our plans when we haven’t been told by the Government what will happen in the next few months and in what capacity events might, if at all, be allowed to go ahead this year. So all we can do now is postpone the festival.
Also waiting till 2022 is the safest option for everybody. We are confident that in 16 months time we can all be together again, dance and hang out without fear or the need for social distancing.
Finally, we really need you all to hold onto your tickets and invite all your friends to get theirs as well. It means we can continue planning the next event. If you haven’t got a ticket we hope you can now buy with confidence for next year. If you can’t make the new dates you will have the option to get a refund or transfer your tickets to a future date. We ask all ticket holders, if you can, please hold onto them. Here are your options:
1. Move your tickets over to the 2022 event on May 26-29th 2022
2. Donate your ticket to Shindig Festival to support the event.
If you do nothing your tickets will automatically rollover to the 2022 event in 2 weeks on March 4th.
Or you can request a refund of the face value of your tickets. As a small independent event, it would mean the world to us if everyone kept hold of their tickets and came next May. If you would like to request a refund, please contact your ticket agent Ticketsellers on email@example.com or TicketLine on firstname.lastname@example.org. You must confirm your choice by March 4th 2021.
It’s not all doom and gloom… after the success of our previous live streams we will do something special for you all over the May Bank Holiday. We also have a plans for a possible limited capacity event later in the year, if we are allowed. All current ticket holders will get first refusal for that event.
We truly thank you for your patience in these unpredictable times. It has been a crazy rollercoaster owning a festival during a pandemic. We do feel like all we can do is hold on for the ride. By deciding to wait, we can now get back to planning and producing the event you have come to love and enjoy without any compromises.
Thank you for the continued support.
Shindig HQ xx
