10 Reasons Shindig is great for kids!
- The team of directors have all got children ranging from 3 years old to upwards of 20 so this is partly why there is so much for kids and teens to do because their kids need entertaining!
- We’re in the beautiful grounds of Charlton Park Estate. So free range kids can safely roam around without their parents worrying about them getting lost or being overwhelmed by large crowds. It’s been created with kids in mind.
- The kids area is being run by a local Stroud team called World Jungle – who have a big focus on participation, circus, giant bubbles, African drumming, graffiti arts and dance workshops.
- This year, we’ve relocated The Kids Playground to the Arboretum. Nestled beneath the shade of ancient trees, it’s a leafy oasis of fun and play right in the heart of the main event.
- There is a fairground – which is always a big hit with kids!
- Big craft area – lots involving upcycling – Make Fans, bum bags and hats, pom pom making, puppet making and play, experiments in tie dye. Plenty of woody crafts including hurdle making, yurt making, wood turning, and gypsy flowers from hazel. We have macrame, pottery, and willow sculpture and basketry. Plus jewellery making and coin cutting, general menders, and bling accessorising with bio face glitters.
- There are plenty of food options, including kid-friendly choices. Clean toilets and baby-changing facilities also make it easier for parents.
- Ticket prices – infants up to four years old go FREE. Kids (5 year – 12year are only £30)
- Ease and convenience – nothing is too far away – family camping, main arena and car parking – so no long walks hauling luggage across site.
- Super Pirates the kids party professionals pop up a few time a day with giant inflatables and fun activities around site plus there’s Bouncy Tyre Play including a recycled web system made from bike tyres and wheels, and Kids Neon Rave where you can glow up dance in a neon rave cave!
