Shindig Festival 2020: Same Party, New Home!
Some exciting news for the future of Shindig…. Ewen Cameron, owner of Dillington Estate, came to Shindig and he loved it. He then invited our team to have look at his estate as he thought it would be ideal for all the entertainment and funky surprises that Shindiggers have come to love so much.
As soon as we saw the rolling Somerset parkland and stunning house, we couldn’t say no. It means there is so much more space to play with!
We are not growing the event in terms of the number of people very much – this is about adding more space to create extra Shindig magic. It’s the same party just with a new home. Plus we are adding a hotel into the mix. This is something that’s not been done much in the UK, only at festivals in Barcelona, Hollywood and Bali. Dillington House will be used exclusively by Shindig guests. Rooms can be booked and wristbands can be bought to access facilities including a theatre and bar as well as 40 stunning hotel rooms.
There will also be a greater range of boutique camping options across the whole site, making it more inclusive for those that aren’t keen campers or owners of live in vehicles. And, even better, Dillington is only just over an hour from Bristol & Bath – so almost exactly the same travel time as Shindig’s previous home. And, of course, still in Somerset where our West Country party vibe is firmly rooted.
Shindig Festival started out as being a party for the friends of the award-winning Ghetto Funk record label. Next year they will also be celebrating 10 years of Ghetto Funk Records with 4 nights showcasing the best of talent from their label plus some big special guests.
Don’t forget there’s something for everyone at Shindig. A healthy dose of funkativity and a packed programme of entertainment for all ages, Shindig Festival offers relaxation and revelry in equal measures.
See you in May, at our new Home!
